Diverse experience, expertise and strengths
Permanent staff
The Africa Centre team members bring unique skill sets that enable us to deliver on our three pillars of high-quality teaching, research and community engagement. We all share a firm commitment to the centre’s work and vision.
Research fellows and consolidoc postdoctoral fellows
We recruited our first research fellow in 2023 to further enhance our research profile. The research and consolidoc fellows leverage their research interests and specialisation in the work they do at the Africa Centre and are involved in different projects.
External lecturers
The Africa Centre’s external lecturers are carefully selected for their subject expertise and qualifications as well as their training and teaching experience, especially in adult education. Recruiting external experts ensures that our students have access to relevant, up-to-date industry insights.
Advisory board
The advisory board supports the Africa Centre’s work by providing mission-based leadership and overseeing the centre’s strategic management, including advising on relevant opportunities, threats and risks; learning-teaching assessment, research and community interaction; and innovative systems and processes for effective strategy implementation. It consists of two permanent members (of which the Africa Centre’s director is one) and six to eight non-permanent members.
