
Dr Kudzai Chitunhu holds a PhD in Public and Development Management and will be a consolidoc fellow at the Africa Centre from April to September. Growing up in Zimbabwe, Kudzai developed an interest in understanding how governance and accountability can be strengthened to promote sustainable development. Her dissertation explored the effectiveness of media in combatting corruption in Zimbabwe, focusing on how media can promote transparency, accountability and good governance. Beyond her work on media and corruption, she is interested in poverty, social security and youth development studies. During her consolidoc fellowship, Kudzai will focus on publishing research articles from her dissertation and presenting her findings at international conferences, including the 10th European Conference on African Studies in Prague, Czech Republic, and the Development Studies Association 2025 Conference hosted by the University of Bath, England. Through these efforts, she aims to enhance the practical applicability of her research, contributing to evidence-based strategies.
