               9.1     Development and training activities

               •  Ongoing SunFin training for PASS staff, April 2024.

               •  Two  staff  members  (PASS  and  academic)  attended  a  transformation  capacity  development
                   workshop in April 2024.

               •  A strategic revisioning and team building workshop was hosted for all staff in May 2024.

               •  Ongoing REC/DESC reviewer training for academic staff at STIAS, July 2024.
               •  Two academic writing and publishing retreats were provided for academic staff and PhD students
                   in July and October 2024.

               •  One academic attended the National Research Foundation rating workshop at STIAS.

               •  One academic attended took part in the Uppsala University Erasmus mobility staff exchange.
               •  Centre staff participated in EMS Faculty transformation meetings and workshops.


               9.2     Awards

               •  Dr Chioma Ohajunwa received a Subcommittee A research funding award.
               •  Dr Chioma Ohajunwa was nominated as SU delegate to represent the university and participate

                   at a research and innovation week in Sweden.

               •  Dr Luckmore Chivandire was awarded the Stellenbosch University Research and Innovation
                   Excellence Award in the category of best postgraduate student.
